Dr Katharine Bridget Pretty, Principal of Homerton College and Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cambridge, has been made a CBE for her services to higher education in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list published on 13 June 2009.
The CBE (Commander of the British Empire) is awarded for:
- a prominent national role of a lesser degree or
- a conspicuous leading role in regional affairs, through achievement or service to the community or
- making a highly distinguished, innovative contribution in his or her area of activity
