Improve your research skills

Research skills training courses in the use of the University Library, its services and resources are being run this term. Some courses are of general interest, while others focus on specific subject areas or electronic resources. Most sessions are run on a drop-in basis (ie. no need to book) but a few require advance booking. Please refer to the course list.

In addition online support is available: course hand-outs and guides, most in pdf format, can be downloaded  from the site.

The courses include: finding journal and newspaper articles; how to do a literature search; how to find things on your reading list (booking required); how to manage your references; introduction to the UL (booking required). The subject specific courses are: finding Near and Middle Eastern material; resources for American Studies; resources for Maps; resources for Modern Languages; resources for Music.
