Man Booker shortlist

The shortlist for the Man Booker Prize 2009 was announced Tuesday 8 September:

  • The children’s book by A.S. Byatt
  • Summertime by J.M. Coetzee
  • The quickening maze by Adam Foulds
  • Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel
  • The glass room by Simon Mawer
  • The little stranger by Sarah Waters

Except for Adam Foulds, whose The Quickening Maze is only his second novel, all the other authors have written many previous books. Two of the authors, AS Byatt and JM Coetzee, have won the Booker Prize at least once before.

As in previous years, the library will acquire all six shortlisted books.
