LibrarySearch+ a more comprehensive resource discovery tool

LibrarySearch+The University Library has recently implemented a new search tool, LibrarySearch+. This is a one year trial. Try it now.

The purpose of LibrarySearch+ is to provide the ‘holy grail’ of search: a single index covering library catalogue records, databases, full-text ejournal and newspaper articles, ebooks, etheses, institutional repositories, and more. The service is based on Summon webscale discovery index, a new generation resource discovery product from ProQuest SerialsSolutions.

For more background see Ed Chamberlain’s post on the excellent eResources etc. blog. For those interested in the cutting edge of developments in libraries@cambridge there is also the Service Developments blog (requires Raven login).
